Responsibilities
• Reconcile monthly economic results with accounting-based profit and loss statements
• Record and validate transactions related to commodity trading, including purchases, sales, and associated costs
• Review and confirm accounts receivable and payable balances for assigned trading desks
• Ensure consistency between internal trading systems and financial records
• Partner with front, middle office, and operations teams to verify reported figures
• Analyze balance sheet activity, cash flows, and working capital metrics
• Support quarterly and annual reporting cycles, including audit preparation and financial statement compilation
• Prepare management reports using relevant financial data
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation preferred
• Solid understanding of financial accounting principles
• Familiarity with physical commodity trading, particularly in energy markets such as power and natural gas
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Ability to conduct independent research and present findings to senior leadership
• Comfortable working under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Collaborative team player with a willingness to mentor others
